Back in September, 2013, many fire fighters from the Contra Costa Fire Department were fighting the Morgan Fire on Mt Diablo. The entire crew from Fire Station 7 in Walnut Creek was included in that effort. While that crew was away, someone broke into the fire station and stole personal property of the fire fighters. Wedding rings, IPads, and wallets were among the personal property stolen.

The Rotary Club of Walnut Creek was greatly moved by this theft and took action. They offered to pay for a new alarm system for this fire station. Working with Denalect Alarms and the Contra Costa Fire Department, a system was designed that would be a model for all District Fire Stations.

The Club paid this new system and it was installed in January, 2014.
